FAQs

Do you design bathrooms and kitchens?

Yes. Bathrooms and kitchens work the hardest and updating these particular areas is a valuable investment. There are always new features, materials and styles that are worth consideration as you plan your project.

Do you work with clients outside of Steamboat Springs, CO?

Yes. I have worked with clients around Colorado, Utah, Arizona, Florida, and New Jersey so far. Virtual communications makes remote design consultation much easier than ever before. Certainly, project site visits are determined jointly when appropriate.

What are the first steps in working together?

The very first step is to send the Client Inquiry.

We will schedule a complimentary discovery call. This allows us the choice to move ahead, or not. If so, there would be an intake meeting set up to really dive into the details of the project.

Why do we need an agreement?

Our design agreement is a legal contract. It outlines the services and responsibilities. These are for both you and me, your interior designer. It protects our interests and ensures that both parties understand their obligations and rights. We will have a written design contract in place before starting any work.

This holds true for the 9 and 24 hour fixed time block as well as our classic design services.

Do you have a minimum hourly option?

Yes. I offer three levels of engagement. Most common is the Estimated Design Proposal based upon a clearly defined, and agreed upon, scope of work.

For projects requiring less than 24 hours, I offer two flat rates that I call it “Design Kamp”.

Nine in Thirty

9 Dedicated Design Hours within 30 Days – one time payment to start. Work complete at day 31. This is great for projects already underway. For fast-tracked project. And for professional second opinions.

or

Twenty-four in Ninety

24 Dedicated Design Hours within 90 Days – deposit payment to start. Final payment and work complete by day 91. This works well for clients wanting professional guidance and consultation within a fixed cost. The 3 month window allows for flexibility of time.

Are design fees refundable?

No. Time has been dedicated to setting up your project and taking it to the point of payment to date. Note the 9 Hour Flat Rate is paid in full to start.

Do you sell tile, fixtures and furnishings?

Yes. Procuring fixtures, including lighting and plumbing, is part of the design process. This includes finishes like flooring, tile, and tops. I also manage furniture procurement on your behalf, with your approval.

The details would be noted in our Design Agreement. It will also include other pertinent information about the process, rates, and scope of work.

Do you have a showroom?

I have a studio on the West side of Steamboat. Instead of a showroom or store, I have trusted relationships with various vendors. These include local Steamboat sources, as well as regional and national manufacturers and wholesalers. This allows the ultimate in flexibility when sourcing products for each client’s individual circumstance.

If we work together, can I order on my own?

Absolutely! Let me know when we start what your criteria are and we can make a plan together. I can help fill a cart. I can also send a shopping list. I can offer other easy online ordering options if that is your preference.
